A progressive Jackpot is a jackpot for a gaming machine such as a slot or video poker machine. The Jackpots value increases by a small amount everytime a game is played. A number of machines are then "linked" together and forms one large progressive jackpot which grows at a rapid pace as more players are contributing to the jackpot all at once.

The Jackpot amount is shown on some sort of meter which increases as more games are played and will then reset once someone wins the jackpot.
